My Brand-New YouTube Channel For Lightning Detectors

I just created this new YouTube channel, so I have a place to upload videos of lightning detectors. Here's the first Vid:

A Different Lightning Detector Circuit

A new circuit (for me) turns-out, it doesn't work...This was my 1st try, so no worries. Just sharing.

...I did not have this transistor installed correctly.
(correcting it still didn't work)

A fairly quick build - I tried building it using the usual methods. Of course, I'll be trying it again.
In any case, a fellow who designed & made some very nice electronic circuit boards, who is a really nice guy...sent me all the extra boards he had, and he didn't want anything for them.
There are all kinds of goodies: Thunderstorm predictor circuit, electronic thermometer circuit and others.
These will make building lightning detectors a LOT easier for me!
I was really happy while sorting them out!! :) I can hardly wait to start building...

Which reminds me - This is a bit late / overdue, actually - But, below are some Pics of great vintage electronic components I received from another, very generous electronics Expert:

Wonderful vintage components!

Plenty Of Rain - Set-Up A Couple Of Small Sensors

Lots of rain here in the Bronx tonight. Not a lot of lightning yet...
But, I've got a couple of detectors on. Including this tiny, simple PCB I got on eBay:
(Please forgive the poor quality of this Pic)

Just a quick pic / Powering the tiny board with 2 AA's
(Via a tiny breadboard)

The red LED is power on indication / white LED flashes with lightning strokes. Here is the Link to the sensor on eBay. It's simple and fun! I'm going to order another one.

Another Lightning detector circuit. I had high hopes for this one. I really thought it was going to work (the first time around) :(
Back to the drawing board on this one:
First pic taken when I just started it.
Second pic, is the completed (non-working) circuit.

This DIY LF Converter Looks Like Fun!

I already have a Jackson Harbor Press Low Frequency converter, which I built a few months ago. Also have at least one more, unbuilt kit (+ extra parts pkg.) waiting to be completed (with various options).

However - I've been looking forward to building the LF Converter shown on this page for a while now...
It looks like it'll be a lot of fun - And I think I'm finally going to build it tonight...

It's a page by Lyle Koehler, K0LR. I've been reading his Web pages since I first got started chasing NDB's.
